The Detroit River International Crossing has been announced as a finalist for North American Project of the Year by strategic infrastructure firm CG/LA Infrastructure.
The $2-billion project is among three projects nominated in the Job/Opportunity Project of the Year category. The others are a rapid bridge replacement program by the Pennsylvania Department of Transport and the Sepulveda Pass Transit Corridor by the Los Angeles Metro.
The category singles out the project that will create the greatest number of jobs and/or businesses over its lifetime “Project of the Year awards recognize the upcoming groundbreaking infrastructure initiatives of the year and the creativity and ingenuity of those leaders who make them happen,” said CG/LA Infrastructure president and CEO Norman Anderson.
“The Detroit River International Crossing is among the top projects that will help to improve North American competitiveness for the next 20 years.” The winners will be announced on Oct. 30.
