Windsor Chamber encourages residents to get the facts on Michigan’s Proposal 6

Windsor – October 31, 2012 – The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce urges residents in the Windsor-Essex area to get the facts on Michigan’s Proposal 6, which concerns the newinternational border crossing.

On November 6, 2012, the Michigan election ballot will contain various proposals, including Proposal 6. The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce encourages its members to share the facts about Proposal 6 with their friends, family and colleagues.

The new international border crossing is supported by not only the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, but also Chambers of Commerce on both sides of the border, Governor of Michigan Rick Snyder, and Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Recently, the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce collaborated with the Ontario Chamber and Canadian Chamber to draft a letter in support of the new border crossing.

“Urging our members to share the facts on Proposal 6 with their friends, family and colleagues is an important step in understanding this issue,” said Matt Marchand, President and CEO of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The New International Trade Crossing will vastly improve the economy in both Canada and the U.S.”

The new border crossing would create thousands of construction jobs and long-term employment opportunities on both sides of the border and reduce delays due to congestion (and the massive costs associated with them).
