Lawmakers must OK Detroit bridge plan

Port Huron Times Herald

Letters to the Editor

Michigan residents are losing out on thousands of jobs, thanks to Lansing’s politicians and billionaire Ambassador Bridge owner Matty Moroun.

Moroun is using his money and influence to ensure the New International Trade Crossing, the proposed Detroit River bridge, is not built, simply because it would create competition for him.

Never mind that this bridge would create thousands of new jobs for struggling middle-class families across Michigan. Worse, some politicians are furthering Moroun’s job-obstructing agenda by standing up for corporate special interests instead of Michigan families.

That’s just wrong. Our leaders in Lansing need to take action and create jobs now.
